WAWC TRASH CLEANUPS
why are cleanups important?
Trash sweeps reduce pollution, protect our drinking water, help save animal habitats, clean our streams + oceans, and raise awareness about plastic pollution + climate change.
Cleanups bring communities together, create volunteer opportunities, and help clear minds and cope with mental health.
our home base
The collective was founded in the Gunpowder Valley Watershed. The majority of our work takes place in Baltimore County and Baltimore City limits, where our waterways eventually reach the Chesapeake Bay.
Loch Raven Reservoir and the Gunpowder River are where we host a plethora of community cleanups, conduct water surveys, and complete stream restorative processes.
find a cleanup near you
We have expanded our cleanups down the East coast, where we have chapters hosting cleanups on the beaches of MD, NC and GA. We plan to increase our expansion across the states.
Interesting in hosting a cleanup? Send us an email, and we’ll send you supplies!
